Check the roof decking as well

For energy saving purposes, making your roof cool is a sure way to reduce the costs of your cooling, since a cool roof reflects up to 65% of solar radiation, while traditional roofs average at about 15%.

It’s not as much about the material, as it is about the technique used to make that roof cool, by applying a white layer of coating on the exterior of it, so it will absorb less radiation from the sun.
